Muhammad Arifur Rahman Assistant Professor, Department of Physics

Short Biography

I am a post graduate research student at The university of Sheffield, Sheffield, UK under the supervision of Professor Neil D Lawrence. Before moving to Sheffield I was serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at Jahangirnagar University and now is on study leave.  I have completed my Masters degree in Human Language Technology and Interfaces (HLTI) under the Department of Information Engineering and Computer Science at University of Trento, Italy. Earlier I received my B.Sc. (Honors), degree from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh. I am a life member of Bangladesh Electronics Society. I have authored a book and a number of  Journal articles and conference papers.


My fields of research interests are Machine Learning, Data modelling and computational Biology. Here at our lab ML@SITraN, I am trying to develop Gaussian process based models from Gene Expression Data.
